WIKIPEDIA: Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features high tech steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century.
Matchstick Marvels has ventured into the fantasy realm of Steampunk art by building a matchstick model of a steam-powered flying locomotive. Plane Loco was completed in May of 2015. Below are construction updates and photographs taken during its constgruction. The steampunk model locomotive was designed and built by Matchstick Marvels for the Ripley's Believe It or Not. The locomotive will go on display at the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum in New York's Times Square beginning in August 2015. The locomotive remains on display at Matchstick Marvels in Gladbrook, Ia until July 25, 2015.
