Fun Fact: The new World Trade Center in New York City does not look exactly like Patrick’s model. The model is based on an artist’s rendering before NY construction had started, Only the WTC One tower was completed as originally designed. The other features, including Memorial Park, Transportation Hub, 9/11 Memorial Museum and Waterfall Pools were built true to the initial concept and artist’s rendering.

The Matchstick Marvels model of the new World Trade Center (WTC ) took 468,000 matchsticks, 17 gallons of wood glue, and an estimated 2100 hours from July 2012 to March 2013 The WTC model was constructed for Ripley’s Believe It or Not and is displayed in their museum in Houston.
The model includes the four primary towers, the Transportation Hub (spiny building), the 9/11 Memorial Museum and Park, which includes the waterfall reflecting pools where the original Twin Towers stood before the September 11 attack.
The new World Trade Center was built on the site of the former WTC complex in Lower Manhattan. The 9/11 Memorial Park and Museum opened to the public on September 11, 2011, commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the terrorists’ attack.
