GLADBROOK COMMUNITY

Gladbrook is a town of 1000 people that is "Alive and Growing." Located in central Iowa, it is about 45 miles SW of Waterloo,  20 miles NE of Marshalltown,  and 60 miles NE of Des Moines.  The community is well known for a strong base of volunteers and community service.

Recent improvements include building the Gladbrook City Center, which houses Pat Acton's Matchstick Marvels Tourist Center, the Gladbrook Theater, and Gladbrook City Hall.  A new housing addition was recently built, as well as new condominiums and townhouses.   In the past two years, four speculation homes have been built.  The Gladbrook Family Market recently expanded services and inventory.  Gladbrook Bowl has been upgraded to using automated scoring machines.  The Memorial Building was built by the community and is a popular community center.  Westbrook Acres Nursing Home is a state-of-the-art facility which includes an Alzheimer's unit.

The Gladbrook-Reinbeck school system offers a fine education.  The Gladbrook school has its own elementary and a combined middle school. There are several churches within the community.  Businesses offer a wide variety of services.

We invite you to visit our businesses, tour the Matchstick Marvels Tourist Center, and enjoy a $2.00 movie.
